Occasionally some people complain of a bulky wide jaw which can often occur through over-activity of the masseter muscle which is situated at the angle of the jaw and is responsible for aiding in chewing and clenching the jaw. The masseter muscle can often become enlarged when overactive leading to widening of the lower face and physical symptoms such as jaw pain and headaches. Botulinum toxin injections are extremely effective in relaxing this muscle which can slim the lower face and also reduce headaches and jaw pain typically experienced on waking.
