In our continuous pursuit of cutting-edge technologies, we are delighted to offer Polynucleotide treatments – a revolutionary approach to skin rejuvenation that works to repair, revitalise, and regenerate the skin from a cellular level.

What are Polynucleotides?

Polynucleotides represent a ground-breaking advancement in regenerative aesthetics. Derived from purified salmon DNA, these natural biopolymers are biocompatible and safe for human use. They are not a filler in the traditional sense, but rather a bio-stimulator, acting as a potent catalyst for your skin's innate healing and regenerative processes. Essentially, they are fragments of DNA and RNA that signal your skin cells to repair and rejuvenate themselves, leading to a healthier, more youthful complexion.

When injected into the skin, polynucleotides work primarily by stimulating fibroblasts, the specialised cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin. By enhancing the skin's structural integrity from a cellular level, they help to improve elasticity, reduce the appearance of fine lines, and refine overall texture. Furthermore, their potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties help to neutralise free radicals and boost deep tissue hydration, making them an excellent solution for concerns such as dark circles under the eyes, acne scarring, and general skin laxity.

How Polynucleotides Work: The Science of Regeneration

The magic of Polynucleotides lies in their ability to kickstart your skin’s natural biological functions. Once injected into the skin, they initiate a cascade of beneficial reactions.

  1. Fibroblast Stimulation: Polynucleotides directly stimulate fibroblasts, the primary cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin. This leads to a significant increase in the synthesis of these vital structural proteins, which are essential for skin firmness, elasticity, and overall structural integrity.
  2. Cellular Repair and Regeneration: They promote the repair of damaged cells and encourage the growth of new, healthy cells. This regenerative action helps to improve skin quality and resilience.
  3. Antioxidant Power: Polynucleotides possess strong antioxidant properties, helping to neutralise free radicals caused by environmental stressors like UV radiation and pollution. This protective effect reduces oxidative stress, a key contributor to premature ageing.
  4. Enhanced Hydration: They have a remarkable ability to attract and retain water molecules, leading to deep and lasting skin hydration. This significantly improves skin plumpness and reduces the appearance of fine lines caused by dehydration.
  5. Improved Microcirculation: By enhancing blood flow to the treated areas, Polynucleotides ensure that skin cells receive optimal oxygen and nutrient supply, further supporting their health and vitality.
  6. Anti-inflammatory Effects: Polynucleotides also exhibit anti-inflammatory properties, which can help to calm irritated skin and reduce redness, contributing to a more even and harmonious skin tone.

Key Features of Polynucleotide Treatments

Polynucleotides stand out due to several distinctive features that make them a highly sought-after treatment:

  • Bio-regenerative: They don't just mask issues; they actively encourage your skin to repair and rebuild itself.
  • Natural Origin: Sourced from natural components, making them highly biocompatible with the human body.
  • Versatile Application: Effective for a wide range of concerns, from delicate under-eye areas to overall facial rejuvenation and even specific body areas.
  • Progressive Improvement: Results develop gradually over weeks and months as the skin’s regeneration process unfolds, leading to natural-looking enhancements.
  • Minimal Downtime: The procedure involves a series of small injections with generally mild and temporary side effects.

The Transformative Benefits

The regenerative power of Polynucleotides translates into a wealth of visible benefits for your skin:

  • Improved Skin Texture and Tone: Skin becomes smoother, softer, and more radiant.
  • Increased Elasticity and Firmness: Lines and wrinkles are visibly reduced as skin regains its youthful bounce and resilience.
  • Deep and Lasting Hydration: Addresses skin dryness, leaving it plump and dewy.
  • Reduction in Dark Circles and Puffy Eyes: Rejuvenates the delicate skin around the eyes, diminishing signs of fatigue.
  • Scar and Stretch Mark Improvement: Can help to remodel scar tissue, making scars appear less prominent.
  • Minimised Pore Size: Leads to a refined complexion.
  • Enhanced Skin Barrier Function: Strengthens the skin’s protective barrier, making it more resistant to environmental damage.
  • Overall Skin Health: Beyond aesthetics, Polynucleotides promote a healthier skin ecosystem, improving its overall function and appearance.

Complementing Your Aesthetic Journey

One of the most exciting aspects of Polynucleotides is their ability to synergise with and enhance the results of other aesthetic treatments. They provide an excellent foundation for a comprehensive anti-ageing strategy:

  • With Dermal Fillers: While fillers restore volume, Polynucleotides improve the underlying skin quality, making the skin appear healthier and more supple, thereby optimising the overall effect of fillers and potentially prolonging their results.
  • With Anti-Wrinkle Injections (Botox): Anti-wrinkle injections relax dynamic lines; Polynucleotides work on improving skin texture, elasticity, and firmness, addressing static lines and overall skin health, offering a more complete rejuvenation.
  • With Microneedling and Lasers: Following treatments that create micro-injuries to stimulate healing, Polynucleotides can accelerate the repair process and boost collagen production, leading to faster recovery and superior results. They prepare the skin for optimal response and aid in post-procedure healing.
  • With Chemical Peels: After a peel has removed damaged outer layers, Polynucleotides can be introduced to promote regeneration of the fresh skin cells, enhancing the skin’s renewal process.

By combining treatments thoughtfully, Butterfly Aesthetics can craft a holistic plan that addresses multiple aspects of skin ageing and health, yielding truly remarkable and natural-looking outcomes.
